Barking MP Dame Margaret Hodge urged the government to launch a public inquiry to consider if the Met Police is institutionally homophobic

She said: "Four young gay men were killed in Barking by the murderer Stephen Port. And today, a judicial inquiry found these deaths could have been prevented if it were not for police failures. The Met has admitted a lack of resources contributed to their mistakes. This is not enough."

She has written to the Met Commissioner to demand a public inquiry considers whether the Met is institutionally homophobic.
