Volodymyr Zelensky in profile: comedian to politician - Time Person of the Year 2022

Volodymyr Zelensky (also spelled Zelenskyy or Zelenskiy) is the president of Ukraine, a country which has been under threat from invasion by Russia for many years and which saw a full scale attack in February 2022. Zelensky is a former comedian and actor, who has previously won Dancing with the Stars in Ukraine. He played a president as an actor in the TV series Servant of the People, before entering politics in real life and being democratically elected in 2019. He has faced enormous challenges since he became president and was named TIME's Person of the Year for 2022.
