00:09 What does it mean to you to have your songs be so woven into the cultural fabric?

00:13 It's beyond words. You know, you write a song for yourself.

00:17 If you get it right and you're that moved,

00:24 what you'll find is somebody else relates to it in that way.

00:27 I can craft you a song, but Moon, June and Spoon isn't the greatest, you know, moving rhyme scheme.

00:34 But then you write something like It's My Life or Living on a Prayer,

00:37 and those lyrics, they transcend language barriers, generations, borders.

00:43 President Zelensky literally wrote me a two-page handwritten letter

00:48 to say what It's My Life has meant to the people of Ukraine.
