After the Isuzu MU-X won our 4x4 Big Test several months ago, it’s time to bring it back—but this time in 4x2 form, against two other midsize SUVs.

For this edition of the Big Test, we’re putting the Isuzu MU-X 3.0 LS-A 4x2 against the Ford Everest Titanium+ 4x2 and the Mitsubishi Montero Sport Ralliart Edition 4x2. In terms of age, the Isuzu is sandwiched between the recently launched Ford and the more senior Mitsubishi. Each contender has its own strengths, so we’ve come up with four sub-tests to really get to know these vehicles better and help you see which one best fits your needs.
