The Ayer Keroh Magistrate's Court sentenced a jobless man to one year in prison on Thursday for slapping his grandmother and scalding her hand with a hot banana fritter.

Magistrate Izwan Mohamed Noh meted out the sentence after Nazri Zol pleaded guilty to the offence on Thursday (Oct 27).
