Carlo è in vacanza in Sudafrica per passare giorni felici con la seconda moglie Susanna, ma si troverà costretto a condividere il soggiorno con l'amato-odiato fratello Giorgio, che in passato gli ha portato via i soldi e la moglie Marta ed ora è a sua volta alle prese con una truffa, ma ai suoi danni.
Il noto chirurgo Massimo Rischio e il ricco macellaio toscano Ligabue, detto Bue, Due hanno l'hobby della caccia grossa e per Natale decidono di regalarsi una vacanza-safari. Insieme ai rispettivi figli - Laura e Vitellozzo, da sempre fidanzatini - i due partono alla volta della Savana, dove si dedicheranno alla loro attività preferita. Tuttavia, invece di inseguire leoni e gazzelle, Massimo e Bue si troveranno a dare la caccia ad Angela, un'affascinante entomologa italo-argentina arrivata in Sudafrica sulle tracce del mitico Lepidotterus Ceruleus Paradisiacus.
