King Charles III pays tribute to his mother

In his first speech as monarch Britain's new King, Charles the Third, has pledged to follow the example of Queen Elizabeth the Second. The 73-year-old takes over the reigns from his 96-year-old mother who died yesterday, after 70 years on the throne. King Charles says he will follow Queen Elizabeth’s devotion to lifelong service to Britain and the commonwealth.
