The Foreign Affairs Department is seeking clemency for a Filipina on death row in Indonesia over drug trafficking charges.

This comes after the state visit of President Bongbong Marcos in the capital city of Jakarta.

Mary Jane Veloso has been in jail for over a decade now.

While efforts by the government to free Veloso are recognized by her supporters, they say President Marcos should have raised the appeal for clemency to his counterpart, Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
