Sugar importation: Sweet deal gone sour | Politics As Usual

Consumers may see an increase in food and beverage prices due to an alleged sugar shortage which led regulators to allow the importation of 300,000 metric tons of sugar.

But the decision was called off as the move was deemed illegal by Malacañang on the absence of President Bongbong Marcos' signature.

The Chief Executive is now passing the ball to lawmakers to investigate the issue on prices and supply.
