The family member of one of the girls who alleged that Lingayat seer Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru sexually assaulted them registered a complaint on Sunday against former MLA and Muruga mutt former administrator SK Basavarajan.


The girl’s uncle, Tippeswamy, registered a complaint at the Chitradurga rural police station against Basavarajan and said he conspired with his wife Sowbhagya against the seer. Tippeswamy further said Basavaraj's statement that the family took their daughter is false.

He further added that Basavarajan got the family members to sign papers after the girl was brought from Bengaluru. He added that he was duped into signing a blank sheet.
