On this day in 1919, the famous writer Amrita Pritam was born. Amrita wrote about 100 books, including her famous autobiography. She was the first woman to be awarded the Sahitya Academy Award. She was also honored with Jnanpith Award, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan.
