98-year-old grandma receives weekly visits from chatty owl

A grandmother receives weekly visits from a chatty owl that her family believe - is a sign from her late husband. The owl visits Ranna, 98, almost every day and sits on her balcony all day, tries to hop on her lap and even "chats" back to her when she hoots at it. Shai Ward, 34, captured the wholesome footage when she visited her Ranna at her home in Phoenix, Arizona, US. Insurance broker Shai, from Scottsdale, saw that her grandmother had a unique bond with the animal and strongly believed that he represented something truly special. The owl’s first visit to Ranna's balcony was on February 24 of this year - exactly two years on from her beloved grandfather’s celebration of life ceremony. Shai's 92-year-old grandfather Bob passed away in February, 2020, was Ranna's best friend and husband for nearly 70 years. Although the owl does hang around the apartment complex and the others neighbours know him, Shai feels that her grandma is his favourite person to visit. Ranna, who wishes to withhold her surname, is yet to fully believe that her visitor is really a sign from above. However, her granddaughter says that the rest of their close-knit family is sure that Bob is keeping an eye on his love. Shai said: “My grandparents were best friends, who deeply respected one another. You felt the love around them and from them! “My grandmother is the sweetest soul. She is a devout catholic and attributes all that her life has become to the higher power. My grandma is the coolest! “Her sass and wit show that 98 is just a number. She’s a giver through and through and all of us are lucky to have her in our corner. “Her and my grandpa’s relationship was such a sight to see and our whole family just treasured them as one.” This video was taken on 17/04
