Former NSW deputy premier John Barilaro has told a parliamentary inquiry he did tell the Premier about his interest in a New York trade role possibly as early as November last year. Mr Barilaro is appearing for the first time before the inquiry, saying it had been a 'personal hell' since his appointment was made public and he withdrew from the job.
