Mariani — Perpetuum Mobile 1970 (USA, Heavy Psychedelic/Hard Rock)
Heavy trio from Austin, Texas, named after her founding father, drummer Vince Mariani. The band released 2 singles on the Sonobeat label - "Pulsar/Boots" (1969) and "Re-birth Day/Memories Lost And Found" (1970). A promotional record was released in 1970 on the same label with a circulation of 100 copies, the musicians released it in the hope of getting a contract with United Artists, but this was not destined to come true. Guitar virtuoso Eric Johnson, who gives out Hendrix's power riffs here, was only 15 years old on the recording of the record. It was later that he became famous as one of the best guitarists, here he is still a novice musician - but what potential ... Guitar Player magazine called Eric the best guitarist five times. "The Austin Chronicle's" in 2000 names him the best guitarist of the decade.
