The process of presidential election itself is very interesting. This election is very different from other elections. The President is elected by the Electoral College. The members of the Rajya Sabha, the Lok Sabha and the Legislative Assemblies of all the states together constitute the Electoral College. The interesting thing here is that the presidential election is done in a special way. The method of voting adopted in this election is called Single Transferable Voting-System.

राष्ट्रपति चुनाव की प्रक्रिया अपने आप में बड़ी रोचक है। ये चुनाव बाकी दूसरे चुनाव से बहुत हद तक हट कर होता है। राष्ट्रपति का चुनाव इलेक्टोरल कॉलेज करता है। राज्यसभा, लोकसभा और सभी राज्यों की विधानसभाओं के सदस्य मिलकर इलेक्टोरल कॉलेज का गठन करते हैं। यहां रोचक बात ये है, कि राष्ट्रपति चुनाव एक खास विधि से होती है। वोटिंग का जो तरीके इस चुनाव में अपनाया जाता है, उसे सिंगल ट्रांसफरेबल वोटिंग-सिस्टम कहा जाता है।
