Geetanjali Shree Is First Indian Author To Win International Booker Prize For Tomb Of Sand (Ret Samadhi)

'Tomb of Sand' author Geetanjali Shree's Hindi novel, has become the first book in any Indian language to win the prestigious International Booker Prize. The prize is worth GBP 50,000, shared with the book's English translator, Daisy Rockwell. 'Tomb of Sand', originally 'Ret Samadhi', is set in northern India. The novel was chosen from a shortlist of six books. “I never dreamt of the Booker, I never thought I could. What a huge recognition, I'm amazed, delighted, honoured and humbled,” Geetanjali Shree said as reported by PTI. Watch the video to know more.
