Monkeypox Case Detected In UAE, List Of Countries With Confirmed Cases Of The Virus

On May 24, the United Arab Emirates announced that a case of monkeypox has been found in the country. UAE said that it was fully prepared to handle any outbreak, reported AFP. UAE is believed to be just the second Middle Eastern country after Israel to detect monkeypox, reported AFP. The case was detected in a 29-year-old woman arriving from West Africa, reported AFP. Monkeypox is not usually fatal. The disease can cause fever, swollen lymph nodes, muscle aches, exhaustion, chills and a chickenpox-like rash on the hands and face, reported AFP. Reportedly, there are more than 100  confirmed or suspected cases of monkeypox found in nearly 20 countries. Watch the video to know more.
