Brian Thomas is a 32 year-old queer travel nurse who was one of the earliest Americans to test positive for monkeypox. He has been documenting his journey online for millions of people to see and find out what it's really like having monkeypox. It all began when Brian traveled to Florida for a wedding, and also to attend Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride event. But upon returning home to Baltimore, it appeared that Brian brought back more than just a good time. Brian’s goal as a monkeypox and HIV positive person is to use his platform to fight against the very kind of stigma he and many others face. Brian isn’t just a person with Monkeypox, he’s also a proud member of the kink and leather community and a sexual health advocate. He celebrates life and urges others to do the same, just to do so responsibly.
