China Eastern Airlines Plane Crash Could Have Been Intentional: The Wall Street Journal Report

On May 17, The Wall Street Journal reported that flight information from Boeing 737-800's black boxes indicated that someone in the cockpit intentionally crashed the aircraft, reported Reuters. The Wall Street Journal report cited people familiar with US officials' preliminary assessment, reported Reuters. As reported by Reuters, Boeing Co, the maker of the aircraft, and the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) refused to comment. On March 21, a China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737-800 crashed in mountains in southern China on a domestic flight, reported Reuters. There were 132 people on board.
