The government has suffered a setback on the retail inflation front, the retail inflation rate in the country has reached a 16-month high. The effect of the inflation of food items and oil is now visible on the inflation data. Retail inflation has reached 6.95 per cent in March, which has exceeded the RBI's target of 6 per cent. It was at 6.07 per cent in February.

सरकार को retail inflation के मोर्चे पर झटका लगा है,देश में खुदरा महंगाई दर 16 महीने के उच्च स्तर पर पहुंच गई है।खाद्य पदार्थों और तेल की महंगाई का असर अब महंगाई के आंकड़ों पर दिखने लगा है. मार्च में खुदरा महंगाई दर 6.95 फीसदी पर पहुंच गई है, जो RBI के तय लक्ष्य 6 फीसदी से कहीं आगे निकल गई है. फरवरी में यह 6.07 फीसदी पर थी.
