Shashi Tharoor moves Private Member’s Bill to repeal UAPA

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor introduced a Private Member’s Bill in the Lok Sabha seeking to repeal the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act on April 1. Terming the UAPA a tool of abuse, Tharoor cited abysmally low conviction rates among other factors to appeal to the government to repeal the Act.
