The festival of Holi, which started from the full moon of Falgun month, is celebrated till the fifth date of Chaitra month. This Panchami date is known as Rangpanchami. It has a lot of religious significance. It is also known as Sri Panchami and Dev Panchami. Actually, in many places, there is a tradition of playing colors for five days including Holi, that is, the festival of Holi is actually completed on the day of Rang Panchami. This festival is especially celebrated in places like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, UP, Rajasthan etc. Like Holi, on this day a lot of abir-gulal is blown and colors are applied to each other. It is said that today, by blowing colors in the atmosphere or applying color on the body, positive forces are transmitted inside the person and the negative forces present nearby get attenuated.

फाल्गुन मास की पूर्णिमा से शुरू हुआ होली का त्योहार चैत्र मास की पंचमी तिथि तक मनाया जाता है। इसी पंचमी तिथि को रंगपंचमी के नाम से जाना जाता है। इसका धार्मिक महत्व बहुत अधिक होता है। इसे श्रीपंचमी और देव पंचमी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। दरअसल, बहुत-सी जगहों पर होली समेत पांच दिनों तक रंग खेलने की परंपरा है, यानी असल में होली का त्योहार रंग पंचमी के दिन सम्पूर्ण होता है। महाराष्ट्र, मध्यप्रदेश, छत्तीसगढ़, यू.पी, राजस्थान आदि जगहों पर विशेष रूप से ये त्योहार मनाया जाता है। होली की तरह ही इस दिन भी खूब अबीर-गुलाल उड़ाया जाता है और एक-दूसरे के रंग लगाया जाता है। कहते हैं आज वायुमंडल में रंग उड़ाने से या शरीर पर रंग लगाने से व्यक्ति के अंदर सकारात्मक शक्तियों का संचार होता है और आस-पास मौजूद नकारात्मक शक्तियां क्षीण हो जाती हैं।
