Nepal's Capital Kathmandu Wracked By Protests Over US Infrastructure Grant

Nepal government’s move of presenting a $500m (£368m) grant from the United States for approval in parliament, had led to massive protests in Kathmandu. Violent protests have been witnessed between protesters and police outside the parliament in Kathmandu. Several protesters tried to push through the barbed-wire barricades put up by the police. Incidents of stone pelting were also reported. Reportedly, the cops beat the protesters with bamboo batons, fired tear gas and also water cannon. Many were left injured in the clashes.
