Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered what he describes as peacekeeping forces to two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine. That's after Mr Putin formally recognised the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk separatist territories, which are home to Russian-backed rebels who have been fighting Ukrainian forces since 2014.
