UP Polls | Bitter aftertaste for BJP in west UP sugarcane belt
  • 2 years ago
The first phase of the UP Assembly election is under way in western UP. Yogi Adityanath is desperately trying to get hold of voters in this region. Yogi claims that his government has paid all the sugarcane payment dues. However, the opposition says there are unpaid dues. In the 2017 election, BJP swept the region by winning 50 of the 58 seats. But this time BJP needs to fight against the wave of angry farmers, unpaid sugarcane dues and a renewed Jat-Muslim unity in the region.
