Countdown for assembly polls in 5 states has begun with the announcement of dates for elections by Election Commission. Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa will undergo elections in a single phase while Manipur will be covered in two phases. The largest state in India in terms of number of constituencies, Uttar Pradesh, will go to polls in seven phases.
