As if the world of cryptocurrency couldn't get crazy enough, a story from Spain promises to add a bit of intrigue to your Friday. The body of John McAfee, famed cybersecurity maven and crypto backer is still resting in a prison morgue in Spain after his death. The point of contention lies with the judicial system in Spain and McAfee’s ex-wife and daughter. The Spanish judge wishes to conduct a formal inquiry into McAfee’s death in a Spanish prison, but McAfee’s ex-wife and daughter would like his body returned so that they can offer him a proper burial and memorial. While the claims of both sides are understandable, it remains to be seen how the case will be resolved. Sadly, there are also disputes among McAfee’s family over heirlooms and how his remains should be handled. Interestingly, McAfee was once just as vocal as crypto bulls like Elon Musk. McAfee said in 2019 that Bitcoin could hit $1 million in 2020, only to backtrack on those claims later. At press time, McAfee ($MCFE@US) stock was trading just under $26 per share, down a fraction of a percent in early activity.
