Watch: BJP faces revolt in poll-bound Goa from Utpal Parrikar
  • 2 years ago
Utpal Parrikar, son of former Goa Chief Minister late Manohar Parrikar, announced on Friday that he will be contesting the upcoming Goa Assembly election from Panaji constituency as an Independent candidate.
In order to fight as an independent candidate, Utpal Parrikar has resigned from the BJP. Sources said the saffron party gave two choices to Utpal, but he was insistent on running from Panaji. When the BJP denied him the Panaji ticket, he decided to quit the party and fight the Goa polls as an independent.
Goa chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the BJP’s central leadership was in touch with Utpal and hopefully, the matter would be resolved soon.
