China plans to extend the length of its high-speed railway network to 50,000km (31,070 miles) by 2025. The network was 38,000km (23,612 miles) long as of \the end of 2020. The expansion of the world’s largest high-speed railway exceeds the combined length of the next five countries on the list: Spain, Japan, France, Germany and Finland.
