Another blow to UP BJP as Dara Singh Chauhan resigns citing government's neglect of Dalits, farmers
  • 2 years ago
With just weeks ahead of the commencement of Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Cabinet Minister in the Yogi Adityanath government Dara Singh Chauhan on January 12 resigned from his position citing neglect of Dalits, farmers, and the state of unemployment by the government. “BJP formed government with the support of Dalits, backward communities, but didn't serve them well, which is why I resigned. Next step would be to hold discussions with my society people and then take a call for future course of action,” said Chauhan. This comes a day after Cabinet minister Swami Prasad Maurya resigned from his position in the government after which three MLAs followed suit and resigned from the party.
