Cold Wave Grips North India, Churu Dips Below Freezing Point

Severe cold wave conditions have gripped northern India. Minimum temperatures dropped to below freezing point in Churu, Rajasthan on December 18. According to the India Meteorological Department, cold wave to severe cold wave conditions have been prevailing in some parts of north Rajasthan and Punjab. Cold wave conditions will prevail in isolated pockets over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, north Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh. Extreme cold conditions were witnessed across the state of Uttarakhand.
