On Thursday, the Union health ministry confirmed two cases of the Omicron variant of coronavirus in Karnataka. One among the two - a 66-year-old - returned from South Africa, while the other, a 46-year-old, had no travel history.
The individuals have mild symptoms, the health ministry confirmed. While one of the affected is fully vaccinated, the other person is partially jabbed. Sources said five people, who came in contact with one of these individuals, tested positive.
