On November 27, amid mass tension caused after the discovery of new heavily mutated variant of Coronavirus, Head of Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases Division, ICMR, Dr Samiran Panda claimed that finding out the transmission pace and whether the new variant causes cluster or not, would take some more time. While talking to ANI, Dr Panda said, “Structural changes have been observed in newly reported emerging variant are indicative of possibility for adherence to cell, cellular receptors with increased affinity with the possibility of transmission”.
