Gopashtami 2021: Gopashtami festival is celebrated on the Ashtami date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. Cows are worshiped and prayed on this day. This year this festival will be celebrated on 12th November, Friday. It is a religious belief that from Kartik Shukla Pratipada to Saptami, Lord Shri Krishna wore Govardhan mountain on his finger and on the eighth day Indra Dev came to Shri Krishna to ask for forgiveness after renouncing his anger. Since then the festival of Gopashtami is celebrated on the day of Kartik Shukla Ashtami. It has been told in Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta that when the gods and demons churned the ocean, Kamdhenu cow emerged in it. Which the sages had kept with them, because they were holy. It is believed that other cows originated from then onwards. Not only this, it has been told in Mahabharata that Goddess Lakshmi resides in cow dung and urine. That is why both the things are used in auspicious work.

Gopashtami 2021: कार्तिक मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की अष्टमी तिथि के दिन गोपाष्टमी पर्व मनाया जाता है. इस दिन गायों की पूजा और प्रार्थना की जाती है. इस साल यह पर्व 12 नवंबर, शुक्रवार के दिन मनाया जाएगा. धार्मिक मान्यता है कि कार्तिक शुक्ल प्रतिपदा से लेकर सप्तमी तक भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने अपनी उंगली पर गोवर्धन पर्वत धारण किया था और आंठवे दिन इंद्र देव अपना क्रोध त्याग कर श्री कृष्ण के पास क्षमा मांगने आए थे. तभी से कार्तिक शुक्ल अष्टमी के दिन गोपाष्टमी का पर्व मनाया जाता है. श्रीमद्भागवत गीता में बताया गया है कि जब देवता और असुरों ने समुद्र मंथन किया था, तो उसमें कामधेनु गाय निकली थी. जिसे ऋषियों ने अपने पास रख लिया था, क्योंकि वे पवित्र थी. मान्यता है कि उसके बाद से ही अन्य गायों की उत्पत्ति हुई. इतना ही नहीं, महाभारत में बताया गया है कि गाय के गोबर और मूत्र में देवी लक्ष्मी का निवास होता है. इसलिए ही दोनों ही चीजों का उपयोग शुभ काम में किया जाता है.
