There is also a special festival on the next day of Diwali, that is Govardhan Puja. Today is the day of Govardhan Puja. It is also called Annakoot Puja, in many places it is also called Padwa. On the day of Govardhan, Govardhan is made from cow dung in the courtyard, terrace or outside of the house. Govardhan Baba is offered food on this day by mixing 51 vegetables and making Annakoot. This worship was started by the Brajwasis at the behest of Lord Krishna. The Lord had asked the people of Braj to worship Govardhan Parvat instead of worshiping Indra, because from there the whole cow of Braj used to get fodder.

दीवाली (Diwali) के अगले दिन भी एक खास उत्सव होता है वो है गोवर्धन पूजा (Govardhan Puja) . आज गोवर्धन पूजा का दिन है। इसे अन्नकूट पूजा (Annakoot Puja) भी कहते हैं, कई जगह इसे पड़वा (Padava) भी कहा जाता है. गोवर्धन के दिन घर के आंगन, छत या फिर बाहर गोबर से गोवर्धन बनाया जाता है।गोवर्धन बाबा को इस दिन 51 सब्जियों को मिलाकर अन्नकूट बनाकर भोग लगाया जाता है। ये पूजा ब्रजवासियों ने भगवान कृष्ण (Sri Krashna) के कहने पर शुरू की थी. भगवान ने ब्रजवासियों को इंद्र की पूजा करने बजाय गोवर्धन पर्वत की पूजा करने को कहा था, क्योंकि वहां से ही पूरे ब्रज की गाय को चारा मिलता था।
