United To Add New Routes

United Airlines ($UAL@US) announced on Thursday that it plans to expand transatlantic service, adding 5 new destinations. The plan hopes to capitalize on increasing travel demand, especially as other airlines struggle to keep up. The Biden Administration has reopened air travel to fully vaccinated travelers from 33 countries—most of them in Europe—making it easier for United to roll out the new routes. United’s Senior Vice President of International Networks and Alliances Patrick Quayle said, “We are confident that bookings across the transatlantic will be the best.” United stock rose three-quarters of a percent in early trading.
