Ajantha Mendis retires from Tests, ODIs and T20Is

Sri Lankan mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis who took the world by a storm with his 'carrom ball' has bid goodbye to all forms of cricket at the ripe age of 34. Mendis last played for Sri Lanka on December 26, 2015, against New Zealand in Christchurch. Mendis announced his arrival on the world stage with a spell of 6/13 against India in the Asia Cup 2008 final, bamboozling the opposition star batsmen with his mystery balls. Later the same year and against the same opposition, Mendis broke the record of the most wickets taken in a 3-Test debut series by picking a mind-boggling 26 wickets.
