On September 5, a Christian pastor was beaten up by a right-wing mob. The pastor was attacked inside a police station in Raipur. The allegations levelled against the pastor were forced religious conversions. The incident took place when the pastor was called in for questioning at the police station. It led to heated arguments between the angry crowd and those who had accompanied the pastor. The incident was reported at the Purani Basti police station in Raipur. Police had received complaints of forced religious conversions being carried out in the Bhatagaon area.
