Delhi Schools To Re-Open For Classes 9-12 From Sep 1, Coaching Classes, Libraries To Also Open

Schools in Delhi gear up to welcome students from classes 9 to 12 from September 1. This comes after prolonged closure of schools due to Covid-19. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had tweeted that schools are gradually reopening in Delhi as Covid-19 cases are decreasing. Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi said, “From 1st Sept, classes for 9-12 in all schools, all coaching classes as well as all colleges will be permitted to resume.” As per the order, the list of institutes permitted to re-open are schools, colleges, skill development, educational/coaching institutes & training institutes, other training institutes & libraries. Delhi government had clarified that no child would be forced to attend physical classes and the consent of parents would be mandatory. Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the safety of students as well as the staff members. As per the SOPs issued, children will be able to take classes at a time up to a maximum of 50 per cent of the seating capacity. Watch the video to know more about the SOPs issued by DDMA.
