Auerbach Center -- Brad Stevens spoke to the media on Thursday morning about his busy offseason as the new President of Basketball Operations.

Stevens on Fournier leaving: We really liked Evan, we talked to him with where we were and where he was he chose a different option ... I don't think anybody got to see the true Evan ... I thought there were just challenges.
Stevens on adding Dennis Schroder: "We were very fortunate...Dennis was a guy that if you asked me on the first day, first two days, it's unlikely that we'd be in play for him. Super edge, super competitor ... plays both ends of the court ... Ime will figure out how everybody fits together."
Stevens on adding Josh Richardson: "Being able to get Josh in a sign-and-trade and use that exception .. (was) our biggest opportunity .. to solidify ourselves. Josh brings a great grit, an edge, he can defend multiple positions. I think last year was a little bit of an anomaly with how he shot the ball."
Brad Stevens also said he has the greenlight to take the Celtics deeper into the tax: "That's part of the reason, with our trade exceptions, that we didn't want to hard cap ourselves."
