Electricity companies to start charging consumers for exporting solar energy
  • 3 years ago
Electricity companies will be able to start charging consumers for exporting solar energy back into the power grid following a final decision by the Australian Energy Market Commission. One of the goals of the new system is to entice people to invest in batteries, electric vehicles and appliances, which would allow them to manage their energy use more efficiently. AUMC CEO Ben Barr says this change won't deter people from getting into solar.
