Today, on the third Monday of Sawan, a special Bhasma Aarti was performed in the Mahakal temple of Ujjain, the reason behind this aarti is that it is believed that after death, a person gets absorbed in the ashes and through the ashes he can remain connected to Shiva. It is always considered holy, so after the aarti of Bhasma, people apply ashes here.

आज सावन के तीसरे सोमवार में उज्जैन के महाकाल मंदिर में खास भस्म आरती हुई, इस आरती के पीछे कारण ये माना जाता है कि इंसान मृत्यु के बाद भस्म यानी राख में मिल जाता है और भस्म के जरिए वो शिव से जुड़ा रह सकता है, राख को हमेशा पवित्र माना जाता है इसलिए भस्म की आरती के बाद यहां पर लोग राख का टीका लगाते हैं।
