Ang dalawang dekadang Visiting Forces Agreement ng Pilipinas at Amerika, tuloy pa rin matapos itong ipa-terminate ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte noong Pebrero 2020 matapos kanselahin ng US ang visa ng kaalyadong si Senator Bato dela Rosa. Ilang beses rin namang pina-suspinde ang termination process.
Ayon kay Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, hindi naman seryoso ang pangulo na i-terminate o wakasan ito.
"He suspended the effectivity of the termination twice. And we're facing an election in 10 months time. And ako, playing at the back of my mind, sabi ko, mukhang hindi naman seryoso si Presidente na i-terminate 'yung VFA because otherwise he should have let the 180 days laps and then wala na, tapos na, 'di ba?"
