Army helicopter crashes near Ranjit Sagar Dam in Kathua, rescue ops on

A helicopter of the Indian Army crashed near Ranjit Sagar Dam lake in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district. An NDRF team has been deployed to carry out search and rescue operations. There were no immediate reports of any casualties, PTI quoted Superintendent of Police of Pathankot in Punjab Surendra Lamba as saying. The dam is located about 30 km from Pathankot in Punjab. The helicopter of the 254 Army Aviation Squadron took off from Mamun Cantt at 10:20 am. The helicopter was carrying out low-level sorties in the Ranjit Sagar Dam area when it crashed.
