Emphasis was laid on the representation of women in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's renewed Cabinet. Compared to the outgoing Cabinet and Council of Ministers which comprised five women, the renewed Cabinet and Council of Ministers have a total of 11 women ministers. On Wednesday, seven women leaders were sworn in as ministers of state (MoS) in the renewed Council of Ministers.
