Covid-19: Temples ready to reopen in Tamil Nadu

In view of improving Covid situation in Tamil Nadu, the state government allowed reopening of all worship places from July 5. The decision has been taken after curbs brought Covid-19 cases under control, that were later eased gradually. With strict Covid-19 protocols, temple authorities in Madurai have begun cleaning and sanitisation. The government appealed to citizens to maintain social distancing and follow all SOPs.
Earlier, the state has imposed a Covid-19 lockdown from June 25 to July 5 till 6 am.
