SC-appointed oxygen audit committee says Delhi govt exaggerated oxygen crisis
  • 3 years ago
The oxygen audit committee set up by the Supreme Court during last month’s lethal second wave of Covid-19 has concluded that the Delhi government sought four times more oxygen than what was required.

During the months of April-May, multiple Delhi hospitals had run out of oxygen supply with some facilities claiming critical Covid-19 patients had died due to a shortage in oxygen supply. This had triggered a war of words between the Kejriwal government and Centre.

With the intervention of the Delhi High Court, the Centre had revised Delhi’s oxygen allotment in those months and supplied more of the life-saving gas by cutting short on other states.
