Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on June 23 highlighted the main reason behind the continuous surge in fuel prices. He stated that India imports 80% of the oil, which contributes to the rise in fuel prices. “There has been a jump in crude oil prices in the international market. One of the main reasons behind the rise in fuel prices in India is that we have to import 80% of the oil we consume,” said Pradhan to media persons.
