Odisha farmers heading to Central African country to teach farming under Gabon’s first Agri-SEZ project

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan participated in the launch of Gabon's first Agriculture SEZ (Special Economic Zone) project in New Delhi on June 14.

At the event, Dharmendra Pradhan talked about how Gabon (Africa) has to import food grains and how the country has set up an SEZ (special economic zone) for the agriculture sector. Speaking further, he also talked about how farmers from Odisha will go to Gabon and teach various techniques of farming to the people there.

“At present, Africa's Gabon has to import food grains. Gabon has made a SEZ (Special Economic Zone) for the agriculture sector, in which one of our universities has become a partner. Farmers from Odisha will go to Gabon and teach farming to the people there. In our education policy, the target has been set to fulfil not only the needs of the country but also of the world,” said Dharmendra Pradhan.
