Bodies of Covid-19 victims were left piled up in a room in Tamil Nadu's Theni K Vilakku Government Hospital and relatives were asked to enter the mortuary and collect the bodies of their family members. The incident came to light when relatives of a 47-year-old man from Theni died of Covid-19 and his relatives went to claim the body. The family was directed by the mortuary staff to enter on their own and search for the body and take it. In another story, Karnataka Revenue Minister R Ashoka performed the rituals and immersed ashes of at least 1,100 unclaimed bodies of Covid infected people into the Kaveri river in Belakavadi. "Our govt wants to give respectable farewell to all who lost their lives during pandemic. Ashes of 560 people will be immersed today," he said. Watch 5ive Live with Shiv Aroor for more!
